Job Duties

The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations to ensure efficient service, consistent food quality, and compliance with safety standards. Key responsibilities include:

·      Supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the activities of kitchen staff who prepare, portion, and plate food.

·      Estimating and ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies required for daily meal preparation.

·      Establishing work schedules and procedures for kitchen staff based on business volume.

·      Maintaining records of stock, supplies, and wastage to support inventory control.

·      Assisting in training kitchen staff on job duties, food preparation techniques, and sanitation and safety procedures.

·      Ensuring that food and service meet the establishment's quality control standards.

·      Monitoring kitchen operations during service to ensure timely food preparation during regular and peak periods.

·      Following and helping enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedure

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

·      Minimum of 2 years of experience in food preparation or food service is required.

·      Completion of secondary school is required.

·      Completion of a college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management, or a related discipline is an asset.

·      Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards; food handler certification is an asset.

·      Ability to assist in supervising and coordinating kitchen staff during service.

·      Good communication and organizational skills to support daily kitchen workflow.

·      Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business operations.
